The Replay Theater.
2025 March 03I got bored the other day and decided to look at a bunch of old replays that a recorded or saved within a fighting game, and I was like "I used to do this all the damn time, how come I stopped?" and so I decided to record some older/new replays (or if I already recorded it before hand) and upload them onto a youtube account, and then linking them from here, and thus Replay Theater is born.
Maybe the Replay Theater is a little bit frivolous, but hey, I think It's fun. Fighting game vods/replays are like, most of my youtube watch history nowadays anyway, so why not upload my own? When I was younger, I used to love watching my saved replays and just thinking to myself about the cool/funny shit that happens and how I can play the game better, and now I have a place to write down stuff, so maybe I can relive a bit of that through this new page.
Design is unabashedly based off replaytheater.app, but tons of replay sites like this exist. To spice things up, I ended up making my own pages that contain a video of the matches alongside a little description of how I felt about the match. I kinda reccomend watching them on youtube, but I guess modern fighting games look cool with the scanline filter on my site.
I'm feeling pretty gutsy by putting this as It's own tab on my navbar, I'd usually put something like this on my Misc page, but I wanna play fighters more, and maybe this can be my excuse to do so. This is also why I'm now adding my Steam account as a way of contacting me, I don't bite when It comes to fighters (though maybe you do.)
I don't expect alot of people to actually watch these replays, but I know I certainly will.
