The beginning of many Normal Birds, alot of bird Pokemon this gen and for years to come will just have a Normal type slapped across it's flying typing, fitting I guess.
A basic, plain ol' bird what can I say? I mean I'm sure alot of people have nostalgia for this thing after all, capturing a bird and having it fight things was a selling point to children, probably.
Despite it's name being derivitave of Pigeon, It's notably, not a pigeon. More akin to a sparrow (oddly enough since Spearow exists) or a finch.

What the hell do you want me to say about Pidgeotto, It's bigger now, and got some funky hair now, but that's about it.
When I was a kid, I though't Pidgeotto was the Evolution of Pidgeot because of the longer name, I was not very bright.
You could not pay me to speak more about Pidgeotto.

I thought Id have more to say about Pidgeot, but I still can't think of much to say about this line as a whole.

No, you are not using Pidgeot, outside of early gen, where It was a solid physical attacker, but that was back when 80 attack and 101 Speed would get you somewhere.
I didn't intend to be mean with this line, A Normal bird is important to exist in this world, and sets the stone for much mor interesting bird Pokemon with the same typing in the future (or hell the same gen,) but eh, sorry Pidgey line.

With its muscular strength now greatly increased, it can fly continuously for two weeks without resting.
Mega Pidgeot Cry
In spite of a more appealing color scheme with added notes of red and blue (was that intentional?) Saiyan-like hair, and larger wings, Mega Pidgeot still kinda eh to me.
A no doubt cooler design, but alot of things are cooler than base Pidgeot, I feel like out of all the Megas, this might be considered the one the least people remember, maybe.
With a sky-high 135 Special Attack ,Blazing 121 Speed and No Guard Ability, It shreds anything not resistent to flying with Perfectly accurate Hurricanes alone, with Coverage in Heat Wave melting the Steel types that would otherwise wall it. It also runs U-turn for pivoting and roost for longevity.
However, aside from barring it's offenses, It's slightly gained bulk upon Mega is still pretty mediocre, and also very vulnerable to stealth rocks, It also has pretty lacking coverage aside from Heat Wave.
